Angela's Tips

Angela's Holiday Favorite
William Sonoma sells “Sorini Panettone with Glazed Chestnuts” only during the holidays. I always order about a dozen. They come in a great tin that you can keep and re-use. It's great plain, but adding honey butter makes it really special. It also makes the best French Toast!

Cradle your Baby in Comfort
The Bosom Baby pillow will make nurturing every bit of the special moment and bond it is intended to be for every new mother. Bosom Baby from Luna Lullaby creates the perfect position for mothers to raise baby up to breast level, making the latch-on rocess easier. The unique V-shape also makes a cozy, comfortable maternity sleeping pillow.

For you and your baby's safety, the pillow cover design does not utilize zippers or velcro. Instead there is a fold-over design that helps keep the inner-cushion secure and in place.

Bosom Baby comes in dozens of colors and prints to suit any nursury decor.

For the Birds
Watching birds in my backyard is something that both I and my children enjoy very much. It's fun to see all the types of birds that visit the numerous feeders we have scattered around the yard. Different species enjoy different types of food, so be sure to provide a variety of seed blends to attract a wide range of winged visitors. Encourage them to stick around by installing a birdhouse or two on your property. I especially like this natural grass birdhouse by Smith & Hawken. Not only does it provide a nice, snug home for my feathered friends, it's constructed of environmentally-friendly materials. And it's versatile - you can either hang it from a tree branch or mount it to a wall.

Give the Gift of Trees
Giving gifts is one of my favorite things to do for family, friends, employees, and business associates. It's nice to find a gift that brings enjoyment to the receiver for years to come but also is a gift for our planet. The Arbor Day foundation sells individual trees of all species, perfect for any part of the country. You can order custom labels to personalize the gift even more.

Each Gift Tree comes in a poly tube with label and planting instructions. Adding a custom label makes it a terrific wedding favor, children's event gift, to commemorate a family reunion, or gifts for employees and customers. The sturdy tube is made of 50% post-consumer content and can easily be converted to a birdfeeder for your backyard (instructions included).

Hair Today AND Tomorrow
When it comes to professional services, I'm a big believer in finding people you like and trust and then sticking with them. Whether it's a doctor, lawn service, or hairdresser, building a personal relationship benefits you both in the long run. My hairdresser Katherine has been cutting and highlighting my hair for years. She knows my hair and what it will and won't do so well I never have to think about it. I just put myself in her capable hands and she delivers every time. So much easier than having to explain what I want over and over like I would with a new person! If you're in the Greenville, SC look her up at Kara Spa. Wherever you live, I highly recommend seeking out a professional in your area that you can build a relationship with. It saves so much time and stress and is well worth the effort.

Living with Cancer
My mother is a cancer survivor, and both she and I have found Women & Cancer magazine to be very helpful both for learning about new treatments and procedures as well as dealing with the emotional and spiritual aspects of a difficult disease. I highly recommend it to anyone who is coping with the effects of cancer - either themselves or with a loved one.

Travel Safe
Travel is a big part of my life, and staying safe when traveling is very important. I had the good fortune to attend a seminar by Bob Arno while at a conference last year. His presentation is a comedic but very eye-opening look at how easy it is for a professional thief to pick your pockets or otherwise steal your belongings. If you are able to see one of his presentations, I highly recommend them. If not, be sure to visit his website - you can pick up tons of useful information about traveling safely.
