DSR Builders Inc., of Greer, SC served as the contractor for the Bacon’s new home. Owner Dave Sarkela worked closely with the Bacons throughout the process, as well as job foreman Chad Niskanen, who really became the go-to person on a daily basis for Mike and Patti. Dave offers some thoughts on his philosophy of building, his relationship with the Bacons, and the closing procedures his firm follows.

It’s been a pleasure getting to know Mike and Patti and watching as their dream home came to be. We anticipate it will be a place the Bacons will grow to meet the expectations they hold for the future, as well as the needs of today. Here are some points about their particular construction schedule and the final walk through process:
• The time schedule for the build stayed right on track, from start to finish. Each phase moved along smoothly.
• We like to complete the home well in advance of the closing date. This gives ample time for the walk through(s) and making sure all is to the customer’s satisfaction.
• The first walk through after completion, but pre-closing I do myself. I make sure the home is done to my satisfaction before I present it to the homeowner.
• The second walk through, pre-closing, is done with the future Homeowners and the foreman to make sure it as been prepared the way homeowner expected, and also to familiarize the homeowner with all the components of the home.
• Post-closing: a home check up is done, and any items that need to be addressed are taken care of quickly. Complete satisfaction of the Homeowner is very important!
